Do take your time to explore the beautiful country as a tourist, too. There is something for everyone in Ghana spanning from the wildlife (everything from elephants to butterflies) while the scenery is breath-taking in its variety from tropical forests to majestic waterfalls to perfect beaches, to history and culture where the past is linked to the present in all kinds of fascinating ways by the institution of chieftaincy with its rich regalia. The Atlantic coast of Ghana is dotted with centuries-old forts and monuments that bear testimony to Africa’s trading links with Europe and its key role in the transatlantic slave trade.
