The 2^nd International Conference of Engineering Surveying - INGEO 2002 is organised by the Department of Surveying of the Slovak University of Technology and held in November 11 - 13, 2002 in Congress Centrum of the Slovak Saving Bank in Bratislava. Experts of 9 countries accepted our invitation to this conference and his participation ensure the high quality of technical programme and the discussion. The co-operation with the members of FIG Commission 6, WG6.2 Engineering Surveys for Industry and Research, the Chamber of Surveyors and Cartographers and the Slovak Union of Surveyors will contribute to the high level of this conference too.

The aim of the conference organisers is to bring together experts, researchers and users from the field of engineering surveying, automated measuring systems and photogrammetry. The conference participants are coming from many universities, governmental organisations and engineering firms in order to discuss recent scientific and technical advancements and to study new technology and applications.

The conference programme including 29 papers and presentations will be discussed in following sections:

• Model Building and Data Processing
• Deformation Measurement
• Photogrammetry Applications
• Sensors and Laser Equipments

Proposed papers were selected by the members of the Scientific Committee with the aim to receive the best results and technical information for the conference programme. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to members of the Scientific Committee and the Reviews Board their large help and activity connected with the preparing of the papers.

Additional part of conference programme is exhibition of modern surveying instruments, software and technology. The conference organisers have focused the exhibition to terrestrial laser scanners, the worldwide most discussed technology today. We hope that this exhibition creates enough space and gives the chance for all participants of detailed study of this technology during the conference. The Organising Committee has prepared technical excursions for the participants after the technical programme of conference. During these you can visit the surveying departments of our university and the most important engineering constructions in surrounding of Bratislava.
