Abstract

Degradation of urban areas is a problem of many cities nowadays. The activities included in the process if revitalization are aimed at solving that problem in social, economic and spatial dimensions. The city is a cultural space of different values, area of economic life and also product of planners and architects, therefore the simultaneous improvement of quality of urban residents, stimulation of economy and restoration of spatial order are conditions of successful revitalization. As the city stakeholders comprise of local community, entrepreneurship and companies, local government, public-private partnership and social participation should be regarded as essential factor of urban revitalization. The paper shows the dimensions of public-private arrangements based on European Union various models and puts forward optional models of public private arrangements in the process of urban revitalization based on the example of the railway revitalization project in Sopot. Basic research methods include the method of comparison, logical concluding, case study description and analysis of documentation. The results of the study can be useful for public real estate managers and private investors.
